According to the statements of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Turkey and Armenia agreed opening of state borders and establishment of relations between two countries without preconditions. Armenian Foreign Minister stated that the relations between Turkey and Armenia is already further than just dialogue, and serious talks between two countries is being held since September.
Armenian Foreign Minister said that their share in this process is just applauding the steps of Turkey and waiting for new steps to be made. He implied that the party who make concessions is Turkey and, that Turkey withdrew of its preconditions of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and for Armenia to give up with allegations of so called Armenian genocide for normalization of relations. Unfortunately we always learn these news from foreign sources. But there is reason for that too. This way, Turkish public is made to recognize things this way. The process is underway as Turkish public is not aware of it. And once you learn what is going on, only option left for you is to accept the ongoing situation whether you like it or not.
As we mentioned in Mesaj TV with Murat Cabas in the program we make and as we wrote before, Justice and Development Party ( Ak Party) government had already made the decision for normalization of relations with Armenia when Turkey gave first signals about fixing its relations with Armenia. These talks held underway for preparing Turkish community for the idea and they are still being held same way. It was obvious that the borders with Armenia will be opened even if Armenia does not make any step, when we saw the roads on Turkish-Armenian border being repaired. Those developments put a shade over the statements of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointing that Turkey will not open borders to Armenia before Karabakh conflict is resolved.
Turkey will finally normalize its relations with Armenia following advices of EU and USA. These will end in such way even if we do not accept it. In the end, Armenia will take what it wants from Turkey with the support of U.S. and EU, although it does not give up with any claim. They will continue with their calumnations even more violently after they get what they want. And as nothing gets solved between Turkey and Armenia, Turkey will loose its fraternal relations with Azerbaijan.
Making a natural gas deal with Russia, Azerbaijan already reflects its disturbance due to the steps of Turkey. Government will make Turkey to pay for a very big mistake becuase of its Armenia policy that is directed by EU and US. Azerbaijan should learn from what happened.
It is true that Turkish politicians are responsible of the situation we are in. But Azerbaijan has its share of guilty because of not getting into action and staying passive. One may ask, What could Azerbaijan do? Azerbaijan at least could use its lobby in Turkey against Justice and Development Party’s Armenia policies and could try to stop the process. Because Azerbaijan stayed passive, its Azerbaijan’s mistake too.
