GUL AND OBAMA DISCUSSED KARABAKH CONFLICT

US President Barack Obama had a phone conversation with Turkish President Abdullah Gul before his official visit to Russia.

According to APA, bilateral relations, US relations with Muslim world, situation in the Caucasus and Nagorno Karabakh conflict were discussed during the phone conversation, the White House reports. Gul informed Obama about the state of Turkish-Armenian relations. The presidents discussed the work done toward the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group. They emphasized strong Turkish-US relations and said both countries would continue to respond the global threats together.

On July 3, Gul had a phone conversation with Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev as well.
