“It is impossible to sign a framework agreement during the upcoming meeting of the presidents in Moscow,” announced U.S. Co-Chair Matthew Bryza after the OSCE Co-Chairs’ meeting with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

Despite that, Bryza hopes for a turning point in Moscow relying on the development in St. Petersburg.

Azeri presses informed Brayza today that the signing of framework agreement is a long process and it would take much time.

“In any case, the progress depends not on us, but the presidents. Relying on the atmosphere we saw in Armenia yesterday and President Aliyev’s latest statements, I can say that there is hope,” said Bryza.

The Co-Chairs consider that postiive change in the atmosphere in Armenia related with th elatest statement by the President of Azerbaijan according to which the Karabakh people have the right to live securely.

“I consider that these statements are important for preparing the Azeri population for the framework agreement as well.”
