Armenian political scientist Suren Zolyan claimed that Nabucco is a pipeline without gas and stated that Azerbaijani gas volumes are not enough for the realization of the process. Stating that usage of Iran gas within the project does not seem possible, Armenian expert said, “Superpowers simply know in what way and on which party to exert pressure on for achieving effective outcome. Karabakh's status quo still works in favor of Armenia.”

Zolyan stated that world’s suporpowers can exert pressure upon Yerevan and Baku for resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He stated that Azerbaijan gained increasing importance in the region due to its natural resources. He claimed that Nabucco project is nothing but propaganda.
