GUL OFFERS CONDOLENCES TO SARKSYAN OVER PLANE CRASH

President Abdullah Gul offered his condolences to Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan and Iranian President Mahmud Ahmedinejad over the tragic planecrash near the Iranian city of Qazvin that claimed 168 lives.

The Tupolev plane went down at 11:33 a.m. on Wednesday after it departed Tehran, Iran for Yerevan, Armenia.

According to the statement made by the Information Office of Presidency, Abdullah Gul voiced his sympathy to Iranian President Mahmud Ahmedinejad and Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan over their loses.

According to Armenian media, the plane was carrying 40 Armenian people.
