Russian expert and politician Aleksey Mitrofanov claimed that Upper-Karabakh conflict can only be solved by the method of war. Russian expert pointed that natural gas resources of Iraq is enough for realization of Nabucco project and said, “It makes sense now that why United States invaded Iraq.”
Talking to 1News.az news site, Mitrofanov claimed that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh would not change even if Russia backs Azerbaijan.
Russian expert claimed, “Armenia would not return Karabakh to Azerbaijan, even if Russia backs Azerbaijan in this issue. Armenians would not accept that even if whole World presses on that. Nagorno-Karabakh conflict could be solved only by the method of war. Armenians do not give land without a fight. Upper Karabakh cannot integrate to Azerbaijan.”
Russian expert stated that both Azerbaijan and Armenia knows that a war would make them weaker and that they do not want to end up as a weak country. Mitrofanov stated that the negotiations towards settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict cannot be anything more than diplomatic initiatives. He stressed that United States, Russia or China cannot do anything about that.
KARABAKH CONFLICT WILL NOT BE RESOLVED EVEN IF AZERBAIJAN SELLS ALL ITS NATURAL GAS TO RUSSIA
Mitrofanov stated that Karabakh conflict would still not be able to solved even if Azerbaijan sells all of its natural gas to Russia to earn the Russian support. Russian expert said, “Armenians do not give anything back. Even if you sell all of your natural gas to Russia and even if Azerbaijan loans 10 billion dollars to Russia, it would not change the situation. Are you proposing Armenians to give autonomy to Nagorno-Karabakh for them to live in autonomus status? First you need to know about Armenians. Compensations or money cannot resolve the issue. Those would not change the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. You need to understand that, only way for taking Nagorno-Karabakh back is fighting till the end. Even American President Barack Obama can’t do anything.”
