Columnist and publisher of the newspaper of Armenian diaspora in United States, California Courier, Harut Sassounian wrote that China should retalitate against Turkey by recognizing so called Armenian genocide. U. S. Armenian newspaper’s publisher criticized statements of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the clashes in East Turkistan in which Turkish PM called the events in China as “nearly genocide.”
Sassounian wrote that Chinese media reacted to the statements of Turkish Prime Minister and started to get interested with the issue of Kurdish seperatists and so called Armenian genocide. Quoting the report of Chinese newspaper “The People’s Daily” which was calling China to support Kurdish seperatists for independence and therefore to make Turkey pay a heavy political price, Armenian columnist called china to adopt a resolution recognizing so called Armenian genocide.
He wrote that adoption of a resolution recognizing so called Armenian genocide is the most effective measure China can take in response to Prime Minister Erdogan’s statements.
