ARMENIAN GANG IN KUMKAPI IS BUSTED

Lending money to the tradesman in Kumkapi Fish Market for high isterest and then confiscating the property of the people who can’t pay their debt by foreclosure, a gang is busted by the operation held.

The long arm of the law detected that a gang that is organized in Kumkapi Fish Market lends money to the tradesmen in financial bottleneck on high interest and then confiscating the properties of the tradesmen who cannot pay the money that they borrowed. Therefore an operation is launched against the criminal organization on July 23th 2009.

13 people is detained during the operations that are held on 21 different adresses in Çanakkale and İstanbul. Alleged ring leader of the gang Arsen Çılbıyıkoğlu and his 12 men is taken to police department. Through the raids that are made to the home and offices of the suspects, police officers found 204,600 TL, 23 gram narcotics, 5 guns, 235 bullets, 6 knives.

Questionized in the Police Office, 13 suspects including Arsen Çılbıyıkoğlu, Manuk Samuyan, Harutun Tezel, Agop Acar, Varujyan Mor, Rober Azar, Oktay Cengun, Cumhur Yasara, Alpaslan Şenol and Ali Irak are sent to court house.
