“Relations with Turkey are important for Armenia and we expect Turkey's response in this regard.”

“Opening borders with Turkey is important first of all to achieve economic targets,” Armenian member of parliament from the Republican Party Karen Avagayan said.

Avagan neither denied nor confirmed the statement by the head of the Republican Party parliamentary faction head Galust Saakyan who said that opening roads with Turkey does not mean recognizing the current border with Armenia.

“It is important to note that we wish to open a road between Armenia and Turkey, not the border, as who said that the existing line is a true boundary between the two countries,” Saakyan said at a news conference on July 24.
