U. S. Costum Enforcement officials stated that Norair Ghalumian, Armenian consul in Los-Angeles from 1999 to 2003, is accused of obtaining and selling fake documents to immigrants who are avoiding to block their removal back to Armenia.
The fake documents that ex-Armenian consul was selling to Armenian immigrants were stating that Armenia would not provide travel document for the immigrants and therefore United States government was being prevented to send them back to Armenia.
A former consular employee, an immigration attorney and two other people are arrested with Ghalumian.
American immigration officials stated that Armenian official had sold two dozens of seperate document for a total of 35,000 dollars.
