“Turkish-Armenian talks have reached a deadlock” an Armenian expert said.

An expert at ANALITIKA.at.ua, David Davtyan stated that the recent statements of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan stressing that he will not visit Turkey if border is not opened, proves that Turkish-Armenian talks have reached a deadlock.

Davtyan said that the statement is not a condition but is a test for Turkish side. “Armenian President’s presence at the return match will legalize the sham of reconciliation.” said he.

Claiming that Ankara has to two options after the political move of Armenian President, Davtyan said, “It (Turkish government) will either have to open the border and lose Baku's credit or to confess to unwillingness to normalize relations with Armenia, thus proving Turkish authorities' impotence to resolve problems in a civilized way.”

“Moreover, Yerevan will show Ankara a red card if Armenian footballers do not go to Turkey at all,” he concluded.
