Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan’s statements stressing that he will not visit Turkey if the borders are not open or if Turkey and Armenia are not at the threshold of the removal of blockade of Armenia, caused reactions.

Senior political expert Rasim Musabayev said, “Turkey is a powerful country, can’t be blackmailed. You cannot threat or blackmail Turkey.”

Talking to 1news.az website, Azerbaijani expert Musabayev stated that he cannot understand the attitude of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan against Ankara. Musabayev said, “If Sarksyan does not have money for a flight to Turkey, then land borders may be opened for him for one day. Turkey-Armenia borders may be closed after he return to Armenia on his car. Turkey is not a weak country that you would threat or blackmail. I do not think that the Caucasus policy of Ankara would be affected by the statements of Sarksyan.”

Stating that it would not be a great loss for Ankara if Sarksyan do not come to Turkey for watching the soccer game, Azerbaijani expert said, “Turkey would not cry or mourn if Sarksyan does not visit Turkey. Let him to stay in Armenia.”

Azerbaijani political scientist Musabeyov defined the threats of war in Armenian media against Azerbaijan as “much cry and little wool” and said, “Armenia does not have a strong army which could stand against Azerbaijan or an economy which would be able to afford a war.”

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan said the day before that he will not visit Turkey to watch the return game between Turkish and Armenian national teams unless the state border between two countries are opened. Holding a press conference with Serbian President Boris Tadich, Sarksyan had said, “I will visit Turkey only if Turkey opens the borders or if Turkey and Armenia are at the threshold of the removal of the blockade against Armenia.”
