Serzh Sargsyan should go to Turkey in October, as doing contrary will be absolutely foolish of him, Former Prime-Minister Hrant Bagratyan told journalists today. Bagratyan considers that: “Sargsyan should go, as even with enemy you should be a good one.”

“It will be foolish of him not to go. He definitely has to go disabling Turkey of rejoicing,” he stated, adding that Sargsyan should visit Turkey even if the border is closed. “Going to Turkey will be Sargsyan's bold step. He was to start and there is no need now to provoke enmity. Though his visit will not solve the crucial problems, but it should be remembered that unserious problems turn into factors within ten years,” Bagratyan outlined. “Turkey highly pressurizes Armenia: its territory and population is 25 times and economic potential 90 times bigger than ours. We should not have allowed them to play first fiddle,” he added.

Gurgen Arsenyan, the leader of United Labor Party of Armenia, underlined significant progress in Armenian-Turkish relations moving from enemy status to bilateral dialogue. According to Arsenyan Armenian-Turkish rapprochement is advantageous for Armenia, however the society with nationalistic mood is not ready for the improvement yet.
