Ottomans had adressed the whole religious needs of Christian students that were sent to Europe by Ottoman government for education.

As many students sent to abroad by Ottoman government in the last period of the empire, government had supplied all material aid and spiritual support. In so much that, Ottoman administration had opened special church for the students that were sent to Europe and assigned a churchman for them.

Making a research on Ottoman archives about the issue, Sociologist Aynur Erdogan stated that a quarter of the students that were sent to Paris for education were non-Muslims and Ottoman administration assigned a churchman and opened a special chuch for them.

According to the research, an Ottoman school opened in Paris that Armenian students were educated “Mekteb-i Muradyan” was being supported by Ottoman government. Documents prove that Ottomans assigned a churchman for Armenian students to be able to learn and live their religion.

Other than that, documents show that Ottoman government also sent Turkish language teachers to Paris for not letting Armenian students to lose their connection with Turkish and Turkey.
