Uzbekistan announced that Nagorno-Karabakh problem should be resolved by peaceful methods. Tashkent administration states that Armenia should withdraw from occupied lands. Speaking to Azerbaijani media, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ergashev said that his country supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Uzbek ambassador stated that the relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are towards the interest of both countries and have strategical importance. The foreign policy of Baku and Tashkent coincide in many aspects, said he.

20 percent of Azerbaijan is under Armenian occupation since 1988.
