
An Armenian descent official will be assigned as assistant expert to Office of European Union General Secretariat. Head of Synod of Armenian Patriarchate, Archbishop Aram Ateshyan said that consensus is reached about appointment of officials by the assistance of the Patriarchate.
Preselection for assignment of an Armenian descent contracted personnel toOffice of EU General Secretariat will be made by Armenian Patriarchate. Last Friday, Archbishop Aram Ateshyan made an announcement on the official website “LRAPER” that Armenian Patriarchate seeks for young members of Armenian community to work as a contracted personnel at Office of EU General Secretariat .
The announcement stressed that applicants should be 'm ember of Armenian community” and wanted appropriate applicants to send their résumés to the secretariat of patriarchate.
Talking to Hurriyet newspaper about the announcement which should have been in the webpage of the General Secretariat of EU instead of Secretariat of Patriarchate, Archbishop Ateshyan said, “General Secretariat of EU informed us that they want Armenian descent personnel. We reached consesus about appointment of those officials by our assistance. Because our community is religious. It is important that selection of those officials should be among people who follow the rules of our patriarchate.”
“Firstly we will hold a preselection. We need to chose honourable and character-wise people. Because they will represent our church and our community. We will chose them and send their files to the Secretariat of EU,” said he.
Speaking about the issue, Assistant to EU Secretary General Burak Erdenir said, “We do not have any personnel in Office of EU Secretary General that is member of any minority. We need personnel from each ethnic party of our state.”
