TURKS AND ARMENIANS IN TURKEY SET AN EXAMPLE FOR WORLD PEACE

One of the most important feast day of the Christians in the World, Surp Asdvadzadzin (ascension of Mother Mary) is celebrated by the Christians in Turkey last Sunday. Christian community of Kinaliada also held a ceremony for celebrating the feast.

Celebrations passed in a peaceful atmosphere and celebration banners that are henged by Turkish citizens set an example of co-existing in peace. Adalar Municipality Administration hanged banners writing “we celebrate the feast day of our Armenian, Greek and Assyrian fellow citizens” to celebrate Christian citizens on their holy day. Citizens welcomed the initiative of the municipality administration and following that initiative of Turkish people, Kinaliada Surp Krikor Lusarovic Armenian Church hanged banners in the streets writing, “We celebrate Ramadan of our Muslim brothers.”

Citizens of Adalar stated that it is an example of peace and tolerance of religions in the cradle of civilizations, Anatolia. “Brotherhood of religions in this region should be an example for whole world,” they said.
