TURKEY AND ARMENIA TO HOLD JOINT EXERCISE

Turkey and Armenia will join the earthquake drill that will be held by NATO in Kazakhstan in September.

Turkish Prime Ministry General Directorate of Emergency Management stated that Turkey will participate the drill that will be held by NATO in Kazakhstan in September. United States, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Russia and Ukrain will also join the exercise.

Turkish Prime Ministry General Directorate of Emergency Management stated that Turkey will participate the earthquake drill that will be held by NATO in Kazakhstan in September. General Directorate of Emergency Management stated that Turkey will participate the “ZHETYSU 2009 Consequence Management Field Exercise” in Kazakhstan that will be held by NATO in September 5—11.

General Directorate of Emergency Management stated that United States, Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Armenia, Finland, England, Spain, Sweden, Republic of Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Ukrain will also join the field exercise. “Our country is one of the countries which will participate in the exercise with a considerable amount of equipment and personnel.

Turkey will attend to field exercise with considerable amount of equipment and personnel that will be carried by three articulated lorry belonging to Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Civil Defence and Turkish Red Crescent.

Turkish Prime Ministry General Directorate of Emergency Management stated that participation of Turkey to such international activities increases Turkey’s visibility in the international area.
