We want to share a telegraph that is sent to Admiral Bristol by Mustafa Kemal on March 7th, 1920, in which Ataturk refutes the claims of so called Armenian genocide, which is fabricated to break away Armenians from Turkish community.

As he was struggling to save Anatolia from the occupation and doing so establishing an independent state, Ataturk writes this telegraph as a reply to the claims about Armenian people;

“Our nation suffers as we witness occupation of our land by allied powers while we were expecting a peace to be made following the Montreux convention. We were expecting for this situation to change with the equitable decision of peace conference. But the ones who make a study of creating negative movements for their interests, fabricated the lie about slaughter of 20,000 Armenian in Anatolia.

We thought that allied powers and American government will not believe in such a lie because they have secret services in all over the Anatolia. But today we hear that foreigners believe on such reports.

It is well known by everybody that Turks, French forces and Armenians that were fighting with French forces gave casualties during the clashes in Maras and Urfa. And that was not slaughter of Armenians but a natural result of clashes that started with the resistance of local community against Armenians because of the attacks of Armenian soldiers against Muslims.

We should add that such clashes would not take place if occupation forces had treated people equally and did not have assigned Armenians on some duties by arming them.

We once again apply to allied forces and American Government for enlightening World community about the essence of this propaganda of slaughter of Armenians that bases on hatred and greed, and doing so to clear the name of Turkish nation of this disgusting and abjectly accusations.“

Armenians still continue their allegations to present theirselves as a disadvantaged community for gaining the support of Western World, and they go on to claim that Turks disseised their right of independence in Anatolia.
