"ANKARA NOT PLANNING TO OPEN ARMENIA BORDER"

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu made a statement about initiation of new political consultations on establishment of diplomatic relations and development of bilateral relations.

Replying the questions of NTV Ankara correspondant Murat Akgun, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated that the newly agreed protocol and the process towards establishment of diplomatic relations is a part of Turkey’s regional policy.

Stating that Turkey aims to establish best relations with its neighbours and to establish comprehensive permanent peace in Caucasus, Foreign Minister stressed that the newly started process is an important towards these.

Ahmet Davutoglu stressed that Ankara will take into accout the interests of Azerbaijan at each stage of the process of normalization of relations with Armenia. He stated that he hopes that development of relations between Turkey and Armenia contributes normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Davutoglu also stressed that opening of borders with Armenia currently is not possible.
