DAVUTOGLU CALLS RUSSIA AND FRANCE TO ACCELERATE KARABAKH PROCESS

Following the protocol agreement between Turkey and Armenia, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu made a telephone call to co-chairs of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and told them to accelerate the process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Primarily, Davutoglu briefed Lavrov and Kouchner about recent progress in Turkey-Armenia normalization process. According to the reports in mass media, Davutoglu asked Lavrov, Kouchner and OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to accelerate their efforts for establishment of comprehensive peace and stability in Caucasus and resolution of Azerbaijani-Armenian dispute.

On the other hand, term President of OSCE and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Dora Bakoyanni welcomed the declaration made by Turkey and Armenia about normalization of bilateral relations. Bakoyanni said that steps towards Turkish-Armenian normalization will contribute regional peace.
