ARMENIAN OPPOSITION DEMANDS REFERENDUM

Miras Party in Armneia demanded for holding a referendum on protocols that signed between Turkey and Armenia towards normalization of relations and development of bilateral ties. According to the report of Yerevan based news agency Mediamax, Miras Party deputy Artur Martirosyan stated that a referendum on the protocols that is initialized by Turkey and Armenia before it is presented to Armenian Parliament for ratification.

Martirosyan stated that a referendum would also help determination of support of Armenian population to President Serzh Sarksyan.

Martirosyan said that he will collect signatures from Miras Party deputies to seek support for a referendum.

Stating that at least three clauses in the protocols are unacceptable for Armenia, Martirosyan said that Armenia’s and Armenian people’s interests might be violated if agreed protocols are not changed.

Martirosyan stated that they are also geting prepared to apply Constitutional Court for investigation of protocol’s accordance with constitutional law of Republic of Armenia.
