AZERBAIJAN CALLS MEDIA TO AVOID PROVOCATIVE REPORTS

Azerbaijani Presidency warned both Turkish and Azerbaijani people about the reports in Turkish media related to the protocol agreements between Turkey and Armenia.

Head of Department of International Relations of Azerbaijani Presidency, Nevruz Memmedov stated that recently in Turkish media there are false reports about Azerbaijan and that he is shocked as they read them. Memmedov called Turkish and Azerbaijani people to pay no attention on such reports.

Speaking to Azerbaijani Press Agency, Nevruz Memmedov stated that there are false reports in Turkish media about Azerbaijan, related to the protocols that are initialized by Turkey and Armenia towards establishment of diplomatic relations and development of bilateral ties. Memmedov said, “These false reports affects both Turkish and Armenian people negatively. Turkish and Azerbaijani people should not pay attention on such reports.”

Memmedov stated that such news reports are prepared to damage Turkish-Azerbaijani relations.

Memmedov stated that there were news in Turkish media telling that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called Azerbaijani Parliament meeting on short notice as fast as he learnt about Turkish-Armenian deal, that he accused Turkey of betrayal. Stating that they cannot believe when they see such, Azerbaijani official called both Turkish and Azerbaijani people to not to believe in such news.

Reminding that he discussed this issue with Turkey’s ambassador to Baku Hulusi Kilic, Memmedov stated that Turkish ambassador Kilic also called people to not to believe in such reports.
