Armenian diaspora in Europe harshly criticized the protocols that initialized by Turkey and Armenia. Disturbed about Yerevan adminstration’s Turkey policy, diaspora organizations in Europe consider that campaign for providing international recognition of so called Armenian genocide is in danger. On the other hand, there are circles that evaluate the recent deal between Turkey and Armenia as a big gain.
Making lobby in European Union towards recognition of so called Armenian genocide, European Armenian Federation issued a written statement about initiation of internal consultations by Turkey and Armenia towards establishing diplomatic relations and developing bilateral ties. European Armenian Federation claimed that the agreement between Turkey and Armenia means that Armenia will give up efforts for international recognition of so called Armenian genocide.
Federation President Hilda Cobanyan claimed that Armenian administration has to discuss the issue with diaspora organizations. Stating that Turkey made Armenia to accept its preconditions, Cobanian claimed that Turkey violates international laws.
