Turkey project director of Brookings Institute, one of the major think-tank organization in Washington, Omer Taspinar commented on the initiation of internal consultations by Turkey and Armenia towards establishing diplomatic relations and developing bilateral ties. Taspinar claimed that the protocols signed between Turkey and Armenia may be ’cosmetic’.
Speaking to English Times newspaper, Omer Taspinar stated that he is skeptical about the recent process between Turkey and Armenia, he said, “Better than nothing. But we have many reasons to be skeptical about this.”
Times newspaper wrote that international community welcomed the process between Turkey and Armenia although the talks between Turkey and Armenia may be interrupted by campaigns of Armenian diaspora towards recognition of so called Armenian genocide.
