The ruling New Azerbaijan Party says fraternal Turkey should not take steps against Azerbaijan’s interests.

“We respect the Turkish prime minister’s statement made at the Azerbaijani parliament that without resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict the Turkey-Armenia borders will not be reopened,” the Deputy Chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party and MP Ali Ahmadov told reporters on Sept. 4. We hope that the Nagorno-Karabakh problem will stand among the most important issues to be discussed during the negotiations between Turkey and Armenia, Ahmadov added. Turkey and Armenia have severed diplomatic ties since 1993.
