The first international television of Azerbaijan ATV International (ATV Int) may be on air late this month, editor-in-chief of news department of ATV Vagif Aydinoglu told APA. He said that the most modern equipment was bought. Their installation is about to end. The television still has problems concerning the transmitters and satellite. ATV Int will be broadcasted in five languages: Azerbaijani, Persian, English, Russian and Armenian. About 30 people have been employed. Aydinoglu said the television was established for promoting Azerbaijan. As regards the persons knowing Armenian, Aydinoglu said there are few persons who know this language.

“It was difficult to find the persons knowing Armenian. Courses of the Armenian language are held in Baku State University, but those who attended these courses do not know Armenian well. We found the persons who once taught in Armenia State University, worked in the Armenian-language newspapers. Discussions are being held on the interval among the news programs. In general, one news program of ATV Int will last for 12—15 minutes,” he said.
