Parliamentarian representing Republican People's Party from Izmir Canan Aritman made a statement on the protocols agreed by Turkey and Armenia, APA reports quoting ANKA agency. Aritman protested against assessing Armenia's recognition of Turkey's border as Yerevan's compromise to Ankara.

“Moscow and Kars treaties determining our borders wit Armenia are internationally-recognized agreements. The item in the protocols on the mutual recognition of the borders is inadmissible for Turkey. What will happen if Armenia recognizes our borders? The international law recognized these borders long ago,” she said. The opposition parliamentarian noted that after the military intervention into Georgia Russia drove Armenia into a corner.

“Whom do the protocols that will solve all problems of Armenia serve? These protocols serve to the advantage of only Armenia and are against Turkey and Azerbaijan. Moreover, Turkey will damage its relations with Azerbaijan. Prime Minister promised in Azerbaijani parliament that the borders with Armenia will not reopen unless the occupied Azerbaijani territories are released. This word should be kept. This word does not look like the promises made by Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the elections. No one has the right to damage Turkey's pride, prestige. It is a crime to act to the contrary,'s he said. Canan Aritman said AKP government abnormalizes Turkey to normalize the relations with Armenia.

“Is AKP Turkey's or Armenia's government? I recommend the AKP government not to bring to the parliament the protocol of betrayal to Turkey and Azerbaijan. I recommend Sargsyan not to come to Turkey to watch the match on October 14. Otherwise, he will face awful protest actions,” she said.
