"GENOCIDE" SCHOLAR VOICES SUPPORT FOR HISTORIANS COMMITTEE

Director of so called “Armenian genocide” Museum in Yerevan, Hayk Demoyan claimed that Turkey was ’out of the game’ before August 31 and claimed that United States Congress warned to Turkey to return to game with a threat of passing a resotion recognizing so called Armenian genocide.

Holding a press conference, Director of so called “Armenian Genocide” Museum in Yerevan, Hayk Demoyan claimed that Turkey was forced to revive the rapprochement process with Armenia by United States. Claiming that Turkey always adopts a strategy of making “one step forward, two steps back,” so called Armenian genocide scholar claimed that Turkey’s back steps were for the favor of Azerbaijan.

Demoyan said, “Turkey was out of the game before August 31. What was the cards for making Turkey to return the game? They used the material of recognition of genocide.” He said that U. S. Congress warned Turkey about adoption of a resolution recognizing so called Armenian genocide.

He also voiced support to the establishment of a joint historians committee by Turkey and Armenia to research on 1915 events. He stated that such step would provide access to the archives about 1915 events and therefore Armenian historians may find 'm ore evidence” about so called Armenian genocide.
