LAST FOUR WEEKS FOR RATIFICATION OF THE PROTOCOLS

We entered last four weeks for the ratification of protocols that are signed by Turkey and Armenia. Both supporters and opposers to the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia are expected to increase their efforts in this period.

Developments are expected both in the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and in the process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh process.

On the other hand, showing the harsest reaction to the process of normalization, Armenian Dashnaktsutyun Party announced that they will go on a strike to protest the protocol agreements between Turkey and Armenia. Dashnak officials state that protocols will mean recognizing Turkey’s borders and will invalidate Armenia’s land claims over Turkey.

Dashnak Party will start a protest demonstration in front of the building of Armenian Foreign Ministry in Yerevan to oppose ratification of protocols that are initialized by Turkish and Armenian governments towards establishment of diplomatic relations. Dashnak party officials stated that they are not against establishment of relations between Turkey and Armenia or opening of state borders but they are against Turkey’s preconditions.

ARMENIA BUYS FREIGHT TRAINS AS PREPARATION FOR BORDER OPENING

Armenian press reported that Armenian administration ordered for trains that will be used with opening of state borders with Turkey.

As the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia continues, Armenian administration ordered three new train from Poland those will be used following the opening of borders.

'Tsegel', the company that produces the trains in Poland will deliver freight trains to Armenia with steam engines. According to the reports in Armenian media, Armenia ordered for trains through Armenian ambassador Ashot Galoyan.

TURKEY RETURNS TO CAUCASUS

Former speaker of Armenian Parliament Tigran Torosyan stated that Turkey played its cards well till now in the process of rapprochement between Turkey and Armenia. Torosyan stated that Turkey succeeded to freeze the process of international recognition of so called Armenian genocide, prevented U. S. President Barack Obama to use the term “genocide,” created unprecedented strain between Armenia and Armenian diaspora.
