JEFFREY: U.S. SUPPORTS TURKISH-ARMENIAN PROCESS

Visiting the Speaker of Turkish Parliament Mehmet Ali Şahin, U.S. ambassador to Ankara James Jeffrey stated that he supports the process between Turkey and Armenia and said, “I hope it continues.”

Speaker of Turkish National Grand Assembly hosted U.S. ambassador to Ankara James Jeffrey. The meeting held close to the press.

During the short while when journalists were accepted to take picture, James Jeffrey stated that he went to Washington communion, he said, “Washington is very interested in cooperation with Turkey.”

Replying the questions of the reporters after the meeting, Jeffrey stated that United States supports the process of relations between Turkey and Armenia. “We hope the process continues,” said he.

To a question asking whether United States may make a concrete contribution to the process, Jeffrey said, “We are giving political support. We want peace and stability in Caucasus. For example, we have an important role in Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group. We, especially support the process between Turkey and Armenia.”
