Imperialist powers have a finger in the Armenian issue. They used Armenians against Ottoman Empire for at least a century and against Turkey following Turkey’s military operation to Cyprus in 1974. But the expire date for the usage of Armenian issue is about to come. And about 5 million diaspora Armenians are nervous. 400 thousand Armenian in United States and 500 thousand Armenian in France have strong lobbying organizations and they can manipulate the administrations. The most concerning issue for Armenian diaspora is the agreement between Turkey and Armenia on establishment of a joint historians committee within the frames of protocols. Ottoman archives are capable to end allegations of so called Armenian genocide.
If the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia can be realized, both countries will get great benefits. As it will be a gaining for Turkey, it will be vital for Armenia. Resolution of the disputes between two countries is also towards Azerbaijan’s interests. Besides, closing the borders to Armenia did not end the Armenian occupation in Azerbaijani lands. Nagorno-Karabakh is 1000 year old Turkish land. Stalin made Armenians settle there to create a region that will consistly form problem between Turks and Armenians. Armenians occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and they exciled Azerbaijani Turks from their homeland. Currently more than 1 million Azerbaijani refugee are away from their homes and living in tough conditions.
On the other hand capital of Armenia, Yerevan is sister of Van. Yerevan was Turkish land at least for 1000 years. Russian Tzars and Soviets filled Yerevan and Armenia with Armenian population. Armenian diaspora fooled Armenians with the lie of so called Armenian genocide, giving them hope that they may gain compensation.
Armenia should end the occupation in Nagorno-Karabakh. If Turkey and Armenia can establish peace in Caucasus, Armenia will be connected to Europe through Ring Highway and Motorways of the Sea projects, and its tourism and trade will shaply develop. They will be able to participate Kars-Tbilisi-Baku railway project. The region would reach stability and prosperity. Azerbaijani administration is suspicious about the protocols while the opposition is harshly reacting it.
Armenia’s constitutional law should be changed, as it will help ratification of protocols in Turkey. Turkey will be stronger if this Armenia opening results with success. Here is the statements of Turkish Foreign Minister; “Turkey would never make a step against Azerbaijan’s interests.” Protocols do not include any statement about Nagorno-Karabakh.
