
US House of Representatives Turkey Friendship Group co-chairs sent a letter to the senators titled “Support the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.”
US House of Representatives Turkey Friendship Group co-chairs Robert Wexler, Edward Whiftfield and Kay Granger, sent members of House of Representatives a letter dates on August 31 that is about the joint announcement made by Turkey, Armenia and Switzerland.
Titled as “Support normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations,” the letter wrote that Turkish and Armenian leaders probably will discuss their problems during plenary session of United Nations in New York.
Co-chairs wrote, “The protocols for establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia confirms opening of borders and establishment of diplomatic relations as fast as protocols come into effect.”
Turkey Friendship Group co-chairs also wrote that they hope that the protocols contribute to the process of normalization of relations between two countries and create a base for Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan to make the decision about visiting Turkey to watch the soccer game between Turkish and Armenian national teams on October 14.
