Igdir Foundation for Struggling Against Baseless Armenian Claims (ASIMDER) sent a letter to Bursa Spor sports club a letter and requested for Bursa Spor to decorate Bursa Ataturk Stadium with Azerbaijani and Turkish flags on the day that Turkish and Armenian national teams will play.

Making a statement about the issue, Director of Asimder Goksel Gulbey stated that they sent a letter to the club chairman of Bursa Spor Ibrahim Yazici. Stating that they asked Bursa Spor to decorate the stadium with Turkish and Azerbaijani flags for Turkey-Armenia match on October 14, Gulbey read the letter to journalists;

“Mr. Chairman, I want to state that Turkey is passing through a tough period. We are especially concerned about wrong steps in ’Armenian opening’ issue. We think that Turkey leaves Azerbaijan alone, which we use „one nation, two states“ statement for. One of the most important trump for liberation of occupied Azerbaijani lands, is the Alican border check-point that is located in our city, Igdir. European countries and Armenian diaspora presses Turkey to open this border checkpoint. There are rumours that Turkey will open the borders for one day to Armenia as a gesture to Armenian president, who laid opening of Alican border check-point before October 14 as a precondition for visiting Turkey to watch the soccer game between Turkish and Armenian national teams. As you know, if a breach is opened, then that rampart falls. Therefore, we request from Bursa Spor Club to decorate whole stadium with Turkish and Azerbaijani flags and thus to show the worldthatpeople of these two countries are one nation.”
