Opposition parties reacted to the statements of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan about carrying the protocols into the agenda of Parliament on October 11.

Opposition parties reacted to Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan who currently is in United States for attending UN General Assembly and G-20 Summit, on his statements about bringing protocols that are initialized by Turkey and Armenia to the agenda of Turkish Grand National Assebly on October 11. Nationalist Movement Party and Republican People’s Party stated that they will not support protocols as long as Armenia does not end the occupation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Press Agent and Vice chairman of Republican People’s Party Mustafa Ozyurek reminded the promises of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who adressed to Azerbaijani parliament on May 13. “We will not open borders unless Armenia withdraws from occupied lands of Azerbaijan,” Erdogan had said. Stating that those statements are pledge, Ozyurek said “If Armenia withdraws from occupied lands then of cource protocols will come into effect. But it is not possible for us to support these unless Armenia makes steps in this direction. The reason why Turkey closed its borders to Armenia still remains.”
