Turkish Minister of Industry and Trade Nihat Ergun visited the city of Van in the eastern Turkey. In the course of his visit, Ergun touched upon the establishment of relations with Armenia, Turkish mass media reports.

The Minister underlined that Turkey carries out “zero problems with neighbors” policy for already 7 years. Ergun reminded of the fact that Turkey was nearly at war with Syria ten years ago, whereas presently the states issue visas to their citizens. “Currently the process of the relations” establishment with Armenia also ensues from this policy. We wish Turkey-Armenia and Azerbaijan-Armenia issues to be settled,“Ergun stated.

Industry and Trade Minister also pointed out that there will be a free trade zone on Turkish-Iranian border to be possibly joined by Azerbaijan and Armenia. “Free trade zone model is similar to the one between the U.S. and Mexico. It will become a major economic base in the Middle East,” Turkish Minister concluded.
