Certain circles in Armenia do not experience special gladness from prospects of normalization of links with Turkey.

According to the Armenia media, in two months after ratification of the agreements on diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey to be signed on 10 October of the year Turkey should open the Turkish-Armenian border.

Armenian conservatives link the agreements with pressure exerted by the United States upon Turkey to direct oil and gas pipelines from Azerbaijan through Armenia as the pipelines will be far from Georgia that is under Russian jeopardy. But simultaneously the US concerns Armenia's “ottomanization” following that and advise Armenia itself to decline from agreements with Turkey.
