One of the major Armenian organizations in United States, Armenian National Congress of America (ANCA) sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In the letter ANCA wanted Hillary Clinton to give up pressuring Armenian administration to sign the protocols with Turkey.

Director of ANCA, Ken Hachikian sent a letter to U.S. Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton. Hachikian wanted U.S. administration to stop “unjust and heavy” pressure over Armenian administration to sign the protocols towards normalization of relations with Turkey.

Stating that signing protocols with Turkey will weaken Armenian ideas, Hachikian stated that American Armenians are uncomfortable about the U. S. Pressure on Armenia. Hachikian said, “If we should remember that you were supporting recognition of genocide when you were a candidate, we are really anxious about your role of applying pressure on Armenian administration to sign the protocols.”
