Kamu-Sen (Confederation of Unions of Public Employees of Turkey) collected 50,000 signatures from the citizens of Bursa to protest possible visit of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan to Bursa, to watch the game between Turkish and Armenian national teams in Bursa Ataturk Stadium on October 14.

Holding a press conference, provincial chairman of Bursa office of Kamu-Sen, Selçuk Türkoğlu invited citizens of Bursa to the game. Stressing that sports activities create anice competition between countries and nations, Turkoglu said that the tension that is occured before Turkey-Armenia football game is turned into a material of politics.

Opposing the visit of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan to Bursa to watch the return game between Turkish and Armenian national teams, Turkoglu said, “Our invitation for Armenian President Sarksyan is turned into a blackmailing. He said that he would come only if the borders are open. We should not forget that Nagorno-Karabakh was invaded by Armenian army with Russian support. Armenians held an invasion that is against international laws and they committed a genocide there. Turkey's border to Armenia is closed because of Nagorno-Karabakh issue till the resolution of the problem within the frames of international norms. As Confederation of Unions of Public Employees of Turkey, we are not against the football game to be held in any city. But we want our government and state to react the blackmailing of Armenian President Sarksyan about his visit.”

Stating that big countries does not bow to blackmailing, Turkoglu said that they will show a strong reaction against government if Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan is entertained in Bursa. He said, “If Turkey is a big country, we should reply the blackmailing of the little country Armenia as „then do not come.“ If our country hosts Armenian President Sarksyan despite his blackmailing, then we will react it strongly. We will not bow to cheap Armenian blackmailing with the signatures that we are collecting here.”
