Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan is protested in Paris, where he selected as the first leg of his pan-Armenian tour which he started to tell protocols that aims normalization of relations with Turkey to the diaspora Armenians in the World.

Becoming the target of criticisms in Yerevan because of the process of normalization of relations with Turkey, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan is protested in the first leg of his tour that he started to convince Armenian diaspora on the protocols that will be signed with Turkey on October 10. When he wanted to lay a wreath to the monument for so called Armenian genocide in Paris, he came across the Armenian protesters. He could not lay a wreath to the monument and had to leave the area. On the other hand, a clash emerged between the police and the protest demonstrators that were shouting as “No to protocols.” Several protesters detained by French police because of the clashes between police and protest demonstraters.

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan will go to United States, Lebanon and Russia respectively and he will meet with representatives of Armenian diaspora organizations. But it seems that Armenian diaspora is not waiting their arms wide open for the President of Armenia. Three Armenian parties in United States issued a joint statement and said that pan-Armenian tour of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan to inform Armenian diaspora on protocols is late and unnecessary. Armenian parties stated that they will not attend the meeting that will be held in Los Angeles where Armenian diaspora representatives will meet with Armenian President. Armenian parties said, “We cannot hide that we are feeling humiliated about Sarksyan tosign these harmful documents despite sorrowful past of our people.” Before he takes off for the pan-Armenian meetings, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan had said that he is not going to convince the diaspora. “I will listen their opinions and I will tell them what I think,” said he.

On the other hand, three coalition parties in Armenian government stated that they will support signing protocols with Turkey after the hostility between two countries that lasted for decades.
