ARMENIAN GOVERNING PARTIES SUPPORT PROTOCOLS

Parliamentary panels of governing coalition parties in Armenia called Armenians to support Turkish-Armenian dialogue and the protocols that are initialized to establish diplomatic relations and to develop bilateral ties between two countries.

Issuing a joint statement, coalition parties stated, “Nowadays we are witnessing such developments that we never had an idea about.” Coalition parties stated that they are supporting the process of rapprochement between Turkey and Armenia. They stressed that the process of normalization is also on the agenda of international public opinion. They stated that the process does not aim to undermine Armenian allegations about 1915 events.

The joint statement of Armenian coalition parties stated that the protocols initialized by Turkish and Armenian governments aim to normalize the relations between two countries without preconditions. It is stated that the protocols reflect the will of parties for establishing a new platform for cooperation. Statement that is made by Republican Party, Prosperous Armenia Party and Orinats Yerkir said, “We are hailing this policy and we are calling citizens of Armenia, political foundations, non-governmental organizations and all Armenians in the World tomake contribution forthis process to be successful.”

On the other hand, Dashnak Party and Heritage Party of Armenia announced that they are against the protocols. Two parties, that have an important amount of seats in the parliament, stated that they will cooperate against the coalition parties which support the protocols with Turkey.
