GUL, ALIYEV MEET BEFORE 'ARMENIAN OPENING'

President Abdullah Gul met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the summit of Turkish Speaking Countries. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also attended to the meeting of presidents.

In Nakhchivan for attending Turkish Speaking Countries summit, President Abdullah Gul met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev early in the morning. It is considered that the meeting is important because it is held just before signing the protocols with Armenia towards establishing diplomatic relations and developing bilateral ties.

It is reported that President Abdullah Gul and Azerbaijani President discussed a range of issues including Turkey-Armenia relations, Armenian occupation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and situation in South Caucasus, as attendance of Foreign Ministers of two countries to the meeting signs.
