'GENOCIDE' RECOGNITION IS NECESSITY: SARKSYAN

Meeting with protests in every leg of his pan-Armenian tour that he is holding to seek the support of Armenian diaspora for Turkey-Armenia normalization process, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan aims to arouse diaspora’s appetite with making statements on so called Armenian genocide. Paying a visit to the capital of Lebanon, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan stated that recognition of so called Armenian genocide is necessity.

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan met with the representatives of Armenian diaspora organizations in the Middle East countries in a meeting in Beirut. According to the report of Public Radio of Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan said in the meeting, “Current situation is not beneficial both for Turkey and Armenia. Establishment of diplomatic relations and opening of borders will bring an opportunity for progress in negotations and for creation of a platform for dialogue.”

Commenting on the concerns of Armenian diaspora about process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan said that recognition of so called Armenian genocide is not an issue only about justice but it is also an important factor for the security of Armenian people. “Recognition is a necessity,” said he.
