THOUSANDS PROTESTED SARKSYAN IN BEIRUT

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan is being protested by diaspora Armenians in all countries he trips to convince the diaspora to support Turkish-Armenian protocols. The same way with his visits to Paris, New York and Los Angeles, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan is protested by thousands of Armenians in the capital of Lebanon, Beirut.

According to the report of News.am, thousands of Armenians gathered in front of the hotel that Armenian President recides in Beirut and held a protest against Turkish-Armenian protocols.

Clashes emerged between protest demonstrators and Lebanese police. According to the report of Lebanese Daily Star newspaper most of the protesters were nationalist Dashnak Party sympathizers.

Opposing the protocols that are initialized by Turkey and Armenia to establish diplomatic relations, Armenian diaspora unfurled banners and shouted as “the blood of Armenians is not for sale.”

It is reported that majority of Armenian diaspora in Lebanon do not oppose process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. Especially youth population is towards rapprochement.

6 Armenian representative in Lebanese Parliament also support process of normalization. On the other hand, Dashnak Party, Social Democrats and Azatkan Party in Lebanon criticizes Armenian government on its Turkey policies. They also involved the protest demonstrations against Sarksyan.
