Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian did not confirm the reports that claim Turkish and Armenian Foreign Ministers will sign the protocols on Saturday.

It is reported that Armenian leader Serzh Sarksyan will be in Turkey on October 14 to watch the soccer game between Turkish and Armenian national teams.

It is reported by Turkish media that protocols will be signed on October 10 by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Zurich, Switzerland.

On the other hand, speaking to AFP Armenian Foreign Minister did not confirm the reports and stated that he finds the statements of Turkish authorities untimely.

Nalbandian said, “This is a bilateral process. Therefore, if something should be announced it should be made by both sides. Parties should not make unilateral statements.”

Armenian Foreign Minister also mentioned of his concerns that Turkey may try to insert preconditions into the deal. It is considered that Nalbandian implies the process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as he mentioned preconditions of Turkey.

Nalbandian also reacted to the statements of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and stated that the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem may notbe achievedso soon. Azerbaijani President had said that the process of resolution of Karabakh problem is in its final stage.

Nalbandian said, “If Azerbaijani President is making such step, i hope he will make necessary steps towards resolution of the problem. It is natural that the negotiation process takes time.”
