WE RECOGNIZE TURKEY'S BORDERS: ARMENIAN PM

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated that Armenia recognizes the current borders between Turkey and Armenia. Sargsyan said, “Republic of Armenia stressed that it recognizes the borders that remain from USSR period. But we will bring the issue of properties of Armenian people before 1915 to the agenda after signing protocols.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that Armenian administration recognizes current borders between Turkey and Armenia. Prime Minister stated that the issue of borders is not being discussed in the process ofnegotiations.

Replying the question of Armenian Heritage party leader Raffi Hovhannisyan, Armenian Prime Minister said, “Republic of Armenia recognizes the borders that remain from USSR period.” According to the report of Panarmenian, Tigran Sargsyan also stated that it is not realistic to question current borders with Turkey. “Of cource such discussions will continue but we prefer to recognize borders that remain from USSR.”

Armenian Prime Minister Sargsyan explained the roadmap of Armenian government as, “We are recognizing current borders but that does not mean the issue of properties of Armenian people before 1915 is forgotten. We will bring that issue to the agenda after signing protocols. We will ask Turkish party to open the archives that contain data about properties of Armenian people.”
