Well known columnist of English ’The Independent’ newspaper Robert Fisk harshly criticized the protocols that Turkey and Armenia initialized to normalize their bilateral relations. In his column thathe titled as “Genocide is forgotten; Agreement with Turkey frightens Armenians,” Robert Fisk defined the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia as a commercial treaty and wrote, “A new commercial treaty will cover up the death of 1.5 million people.” Fisk harshly criticized the protocols and wrote, “Foreign Ministers should hope that their pens will not leak blood on Saturday in Switzerland as they sign the protocols.”
Middle East expert defined deportation of Armenians in 1915 as “a genocide walk that about 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives.” Claiming that every year another evidence that supports Armenian ideas is being found, Fisk wrote, “On the other hand, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan plans to sign protocols with Turkey on Saturday that frighten Armenians. And he aims to do that without keeping his promise to diaspora Armenians, without demanding recognition of genocide.”
“ARMENIAN MILITIA FORCES HELD A SMALL SCALE ETHNICAL CLEANSING IN KARABAKH”
Defining Nagorno-Karabakh as a historical Armenian land, Robert Fisk stated that Turkey mentions a possible agreement on the dispute of Nagorno-Karabakh. He also wrote that Armenians held an ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh 20 years ago.
Fisk wrote that the thing that irritates diaspora Armenians is that Turkey rejects to include recognition of so called Armenian genocide in the protocols. Fisk also criticized the attitude of U.S. and English governments and wrote that Barack Obama became the third U. S. President who pledged for recognizing so called Armenian genocide during the election campaign and did not keep the promise afterwards.
