
A group of popular Armenian including famous French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour called Armenian diaspora to back Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan on process of normalization of relations with Turkey in an open letter. Group stressed that rapprochement with Turkey does not mean questioning so called Armenian genocide.
A group of famous Armenians including French-Armenian singer andArmenia’s ambassador to France Charles Aznavour called diaspora Armenians to support the policies of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan just before Turkey and Armenia signs the protocols towards normalization of relations. They stressed that rapprochement with Turkey does not mean questioning so called Armenian genocide.
The letter starts as, “The football diplomacy that was initiated by Armenian President last year opened a door for normalization of relations with Turkey.” Group stressed that international public opinion supports Turkish-Armenian rapprochement. The group wrote in letter;
“It is clear that this process does not mean forgetting the past and questioning the genocide. Armenian leaders who are responsible of the future of the country and the next generations are making bold and logic steps towards establishment of relations and opening of borders between two countries without preconditions.”
