"EDWARD!, ACCEPT TO SIGN PROTOCOLS"

Russian Kommersant newspaper reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov played an important role in the solution of the crisis that emerged in the signing ceremony of protocols between Turkey and Armenia.

Russian Kommersant newspaper claimed that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian was forced to sign protocols that aim normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. Russian journal wrote that the tense situation was solved by the note of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, “Edward!, accept to sign protocols easily, and go.”

Publishing the information that is provided from the delegation, Russian newspaper wrote that Lavrov wanted Armenian Foreign Minister to cancel the statement after signing protocols and to be contented with the signing ceremony.

Kommersant wrote that Turkish and Armenian Foreign Ministers agreed on finishing the ceremony silently upon the suggestion of Russian Foreign Minister.

The protocols that aim to start diplomatic relations and develop bilateral ties between Turkey and Armenia are signed in Zurich on Saturday. Protocols are initialized by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian. Russian, American, French andSlovenian Foreign Ministers andHigh Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union Javier Solana were present in the signing ceremony.

Russian newspaper wrote that Edward Nalbandian was forced to sign the protocols by the order of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Russian journal claimed that Lavrov gave a note to Nalbandian, “Edward!, accept to sign protocols easily, and go.”
