“We took emergency steps for signing the protocols with Turkey.

I had very hard moments in the process that began after August 31,“Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said at the briefing held after the meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul in Bursa. He said they overcame the difficulties that appeared while raising awareness of the Diaspora.

“I did not hold meetings with the Diaspora to get permission to normalize the relations with Turkey. I held meetings to raise awareness of the Diaspora concerning the decisions passed by the Armenian government. There are forces in both sides that think differently. But there are people who support our steps. The main thing is that the number of those having positive opinion of this process is increasing. Their number will continue to increase, because we are doing positive work and take steps that we think are right,” he said.
